Friendly Friday ~ other recommendations

We’ve come to the end of Rio Week in Las Vegas. Boy, does time fly!
So to wrap up the week, here are a few more recommendations I can make…
The Carnival World Buffet ~ go hungry and plan to stay awhile! Oh, and expect to wait in line to get in if you go at common eating times. I think there was one time we waited a good hour and a half to get to the register, pay and go in. But the wait is worth it. Check out this link for more information on this wonderful buffet:

All American Bar and Grille ~ The website states that the restaurant has burgers but I don’t remember seeing them on the menu—lots of seafood and steaks, and other high priced food, but no burgers and fries. They do have a potato soup there that is awesome in my opinion.

The Village Seafood Buffet ~ I went there the night I first moved into town which was 6.5 years ago & I thought it was fantastic. Don’t know what it’s like now, but if you like/love seafood, then this is a place to try out. http://www.riolasvegas.com/casinos/rio/restaurants-dining/village-seafood-buffet-detail.html
Penn & Teller ~ looking for comedy and magic? Then this is the show to see & you can meet them in the lobby afterwards! http://www.riolasvegas.com/EventsDetail.do?locationCode=RLV&detailName=penn-and-teller-b-detail&eventTitle=Penn%20&%20Teller

Tribute Tuesday ~ Great Food!

Today’s tribute is to some great food off the beaten tourist path.
Visiting, or do you live in, Las Vegas? Like Mexican food?
Then you’ll have to check out this great little place southeast of the strip.
El Herradero Restautrant. Located at 1725 E. Warm Springs, Las Vegas
The restaurant is a small place located in a strip mall. There’s no alcohol there and the hours seem somewhat limited (Mon-Fri: 9 am to 8 pm & Saturday 10 am to 6 pm ~ my recommendation is to call before you go to confirm their business hours 702.270.3444). But the food is wonderful! The chips, guacamole and salsa are homemade. The chips aren’t all that salty and the salsa has a nice combination of bite and sweetness. There’s a good selection of different dishes and the portions are generous. For those who like kick with their food, they have a “salsa buffet” that has different levels of hot sauces. Prices are reasonable.
